Rates/Costs

The following are rates for 2008.  Prices are in US dollars

Notes:
The above prices do not include administrative fee ($75), taxes (12%), pool heat $300, linens & towels (optional), and travel insurance 6.5% (optional).  A security deposit of $250 is required – refundable within 45 days after departure or a non-refundable $40 security deposit waiver (in lieu of the deposit). No Pets, No smoking. Book early!!! The 2006 prime weeks are almost gone.

 

Availability & Reservation

 To make a reservation:

1. Check Sunset Pleasure Calendar to make sure your desired dates are available

2. Estimate your cost as follows:

·        identify the correct base rate for your desired week

·        multiply by 1.12 (12% being the tax due)

·        add $70.25 (Administrative/Reservation fee)

Add the following optional items, if desired:

·        linens and towels service: King/Queen/Double/Single - $12.00 per set; Pillow Case (each) - $2.00; Bath Towel (each) - $3.00; Wash Cloth (each) - $1.00; Bath Mat (each) - $2.00. Note: Set includes 2 sheets + 2 pillow cases; quoted prices are a one time charge per stay.

·        pool heat - $300/week

·        trip cancellation insurance – approximately 6.5%.

Note: If unable to do this calculation, we’ll do it for you – skip to step 3.

 

3. Contact us by phone at (301) 422-1243 or e-mail us at vtoproperties@yahoo.com and confirm that you want us to proceed with your reservation. Note: Reservation by phone takes about 5-10 minutes.

We will tentatively reserve your dates and email a rental agreement to you. One half (50%) of the rent, plus the administrative fee ($75) is due with your signed Reservation Rental Agreement within fourteen (14) days of reservation to be able to secure your reservation.  Trip cancellation insurance (if desired) is also due at this time.  The remainder is due 30 days before check-in. Payments may be made anytime by cash, money order, cashier’s check, travelers check, or certified check. Personal checks are accepted only if you are paying more than thirty (30) days in advance of check-in.  A $25.00 service fee will be charged for all returned checks.  Credit cards may be accepted, but add a 2.5% non-refundable convenience fee.

Location

Sunset Pleasure Cottage is located in Avon at Kinnakeet Shores, the finest Resort Community on the Outer Banks, within a few blocks of the beach, one block of the Sound, and convenient to other attractions, shopping and dining. The main entrance at the resort is located at Milepost 56, and Sunset Pleasure is only one (1) minute from the gate.  About five miles south, you’ll find the historic Hatteras Island Lighthouse.

Kinnakeet Shores Resort

Dubbed “the last of its kind…..,” Kinnakeet Shores Resort has become one of the most sought after resorts by beach goers, wind surfers, birdwatchers, and fishermen;  away from the crowds and traffic of the main beaches, but close enough to several miles of unspoiled white beaches at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.  Its location in Avon places Kinnakeet Shores close to the Gulf Stream, and on average, its ocean waters are ten degrees warmer than the northern beaches.  Kinnakeet Shores Resort also offers 400 acres of pristine lake-studded maritime forest on the Pamlico Sound.

Directions to the Outer Banks.

(Note: You must first check-in and collect the keys at Hatteras Realty – our local management agent, they are located in Avon, NC at Milepost 55).

Please contact your local AAA agency or consult your atlas, for directions specific to your departure locale.

From the North - Follow I-95 South: just before Richmond, take I-295 South towards Williamsburg.  Take I-64 East toward Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA. Take 64 or 664 to Chesapeake, VA/Norfolk. Go South on 168, towards Nags Head/Chesapeake Expressway*. Once in North Carolina, 168 becomes US-158 East. Follow this road to the Outer Banks. After crossing the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge, follow US 158 East (i.e. Croatan Highway) to about Milepost 16 and turn left to Hwy 12 south.  Follow Hwy 12 south to Avon, at about Milepost 55, Hatteras Realty is on the Right.

*Chesapeake Expressway is a toll-road, which costs $2.00 each way.

From the West - Via I-95 into North Carolina. Take US-64 East toward Rocky Mount. Follow US-64 East through Williamston and Plymouth, NC. From Plymouth, NC keep going east to Manteo and the Outer Banks. After Manteo, from US 64 turn right onto Hwy 12 south.  Follow Hwy 12 south to Avon at about Milepost 55, Hatteras Realty is on the Right.

From the South - Coming from South Carolina, take I-95 to Rocky Mount, NC. Take US-64 East and follow signs to the Outer Banks. From Washington, NC take State Route 30 to Plymouth, NC and follow the directions above via US-64 East to the Outer Banks.  After Manteo, from US 64 turn right onto Hwy 12 south.  Follow Hwy 12 south to Avon at about Milepost 55, Hatteras Realty is on the Right.

From the Air - Should you prefer to arrive by air, there are international airports in Norfolk, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Newport News, VA. You'll find car rental companies on the Outer Banks: U-Save Auto Rentals 800-685-9938, Enterprise 252-480-1838, Outer Banks Limousine 252-261-3133, and/or car rentals from Dare County Regional Airport 252-473-2600.

Directions from Hatteras Realty office to Sunset Pleasure.

• After check-in and you've collected the keys and welcome materials, return to Hwy 12 south and go about half mile
• You’ll see Kinnakeet Shores entrance on the right, turn right
• After you’ve passed the gate, follow Starboard Drive to the circle
• At the circle, bear slight left and go about one (1) block
• Turn left onto Portside Drive, and go to Yardarm Court
• Turn left at Yardarm Court
• Look for 41192 at the culdesac (on the left)
